December Meeting

December Celebration

 For the second year Luis and Jenifer Barroso hosted our December meeting at their home in Orlando. The party was well attended and for those who enjoyed last year's party the progress was evident in the ponds and yard.  What a difference a year makes after the storms! Dr. Borroso gives Jenifer all the credit for creating their paradise of the yard and ponds.  Thanks to the Barrosos for a wonderful day and delicious food.

January Meeting

Our January meeting on the 22nd (Sunday) was at the McMahon's home. This meeting was a great opportunity to visit with Mike and see his recently built koi pond. Mike's pond was finished with a polyurea coating. Soon there will be more of these type ponds in Orlando.  The builder, Carl Forss,  was our speaker for the afternoon.  In addition to being a nationally recognized koi pond builder. Carl gave a two part talk regarding modern koi pond construction, and after refreshments, he talked to us about his experiences visiting breeders in Japan and shipping koi to the USA. Carl is a dealer who regularly visits Japan to bring back many of the beautiful koi that we enjoy. February Trip
